Art Statement
What is most important about art/design is that you express yourself, feeling yourself connected within the art piece. In my point of view when it comes to doing art is because you want to and not just because you are forced to from someone else. Art isn’t something to learn that everyone needs to do, sure, it would be best for people to at least give it a try. But in the end, art isn’t for everyone to do in their daily lives. When I do art, it’s because it makes me happy, I feel joy and happiness while doing art, learning something new and trying it, can be stressful but it is a nice experience to learn a new art technique. I love to learn something new when it comes to art, trying out different things that could help me with my major later.
My tick in art/design is my love for my family and friends, that’s what kept me going when it comes to doing art. But at the same time, art has always been my passion and it will always be my passion. I’ve been doing art for as long as I can remember, as a little kid, before enrolling into school, I drew at a very young age. I loved the colors, the forms I could make, anything that just brings creativity. My love for art and the support from my friends and family, it really kept me going, I even draw more because of happy memories, dreams, and goals. I draw because it makes me happy, I wasn’t like other people growing up when it comes to being a doctor, a lawyer, business person, etc., all those high position jobs where you can make lots of money. I was always so fond of drawing, creating things, making all these different design with paint, pencil, markers, etc. I love to try different techniques and mediums for art, exploring, experimenting, it’s fun and brings a smile to my face.
Based on the world we live in, it’s hard for someone like me to do the stuff I want to do with art. It was all based-on money if art would make money or not, I get many doubts, I just get so tired of it from hearing it every day. Saying stuff about my choice that it won’t go anywhere, not everything has to be money all the time, is about doing the things that makes you happy. I know it isn’t easy to do but I won’t give up on my dream, my passion, what makes me happy, something I want to do in my future. I could go into the film set, comic work, anything where I can draw, I could see myself doing something that I love to do in my future. I will have a backup plan as well but, in the end, I will do whatever it takes to reach for my goals and dreams, just for me, no one else.
